17 Ways To Have A Natural Glow Up At Home

“Glowing up” can mean different things to people, for some it is becoming more physically attractive and for others it is becoming emotionally independent. For me Glowing up means Both, feeling amazing about your physical appearance as well as how you feel mentally. I have come up with a list of steps to help you in your glow up journey! I have tried most of these and it has changed everything around for me, Hope it does for you too. Let’s Explore:

  1. Start with Hydration

I have intentionally put this as number one! I’m sure you have heard a lot of the benefits staying hydrated have, it is because its true. It is essential to achieving healthy looking skin, with shiny pulpy appearance and have plenty other benefits i.e. for digestive health. Aim to drink at least 8 glasses a day. You can make things more interesting and tastier by adding sliced fruits such as lemons and strawberries in your water! Something I love.

 

  1. Have a Skincare Routine

Develop a skincare routine which is effective. This will enhance your physical appearance and also help you maintain good health of your skin. Cleanse twice a day to get rid of any accumulated oil and dirt on your skin pores.Exfoliate daily to remove dead skin cells, this ensures your skin looks healthy and fresh all the time.

Prevent damage from the sun rays by using good quality sunscreen. This one is very important as it can drastically affect the appearance of your skin over a period of time.

 

  1. Balanced Diet

There is a saying “You are what you eat” and this is what a lot of “fitness freaks” go by. Eating foods that are high in sugar or fats will lead to unhealthy weight fluctuations and eventually may result in less confidence, it could also result in negative thought patterns about yourself. To ensure you are on the right track for a glow up you need to include vegetables, proteins and healthy fats in your diet, have a balanced diet.

Things like antioxidants and omega-3 oil can help you achieve a glowing skin and improve the health of your skin too!

 

  1. Regular Exercise

Exercise and Diet go hand in hand. Once the diet is looked after, exercise is the next step. It will allow you maintain the weight you are happy with and also lead to reduced stressed, and a positive mindset which is very important.

Good blood circulation from exercise has multiple benefits like, improving skin health, achieving healthy weight, mental satisfaction, and just general happiness.

 

  1. Get Quality Sleep

Sleep is when body recovers and prepares for all the work it must do tomorrow. You need a quality sleep between 7-9 hours to help you recover from the gym exhaustion and re-energise for tomorrow.

Lack of sleep is often quite visible as it reflects in a person’s appearance, whether it is dark circles or drained energy. This will affect your confidence. Always aim for a quality sleep and have a schedule that you consistently follow.

 

  1. Practice Good Hygiene

I’m sure you take care of this already, we can always improve further no matter what it is. Brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing, trimming your nails once a week, brushing your hair, making sure you smell nice, and your clothes smell nice too. These are all the small things which can make a big difference, people notice everything.

 

  1. Hair Care

Hair care routine can really enhance your appearance. Use organic hair products, trim your frequently, seek treatment if you are experiencing any problems with hair. These tips will help you get complements!

Another important thing is to have hairstyles that go with your personality and facial structure, this will be different for all of us but can significantly up your style game!

 

  1. Importance Of Dressing Style

When I dress nicely, I feel so much better about myself, and my confidence goes through the roof! I’m sure that’s for most of us ladies. Another way to help you glow up both physically and mentally is by dressing nicely. Experiment and determine which dressing styles suit your body type and most importantly make you feel amazing about yourself. Try to wear that style more frequently on events or just generally when socialising.

 

  1. Have a Morning Routine

When your day is well-structured and productively spent it makes you feel mentally satisfied. This feeling is essential for glowing up journey. Have a morning routine, which includes no phone use, 5-10 min of reading and a healthy breakfast, do this before starting your day. This sets a nice positive tone which lasts the whole day.

 

  1. Stay Consistent with Self-Care

It feels nice to treat yourself when you know you have been working hard to make things right, never be shy to treat yourself, whether it is a movie date or a cute bath with your favourite scented candles around you!

 

  1. Keep a Clean Environment

You feel calm and at ease when everything is tidy and organised around you. Surroundings have a direct impact on our thought patterns, which means, tidy and clean surroundings lead to positive healthy thoughts.Have a time in your schedule to organise your room desk, put all the worn clothes in the laundry basket, replace the bins, do the dishes, and anything that appears un-organised or not clean.

This is an important step to maintain a good positive mind.

 

  1. Learn Something New

The drive to learn and do something keeps you motivated every single day, this should always be there. A glow is mental too remember. Whether it is learning to sketch, sing or drive, do it!

 

  1. Green Tea Magic

Just a nice little addition in this list. Green tea has plenty of benefits for skin and digestion. Green tea has antioxidants which has anti-inflammation characteristics which can give your skin a healthy shiny appearance.

 

  1. Smile More!

Look for opportunities to smile more, this way you will attract many opportunities. Having a bright smile on your face reflects confidence and positive mind and we attract what we are.

 

  1. Natural Ingredients

Use natural things over lab made chemicals where you can. Foods like green tea, honey, coconut, aloe vera have many health benefits. They can help with skin, hair and digestive issues. These tips will help you in your glow up journey

 

  1. Relationships

Connect with people who make you feel better about yourself whether its family or friends. These positive bonds act as a booster on your way to glowing up and becoming the best version of yourself. And likewise, cut off any negative people who hold you back.

 

  1. Be Patient and Consistent

This will either make it or beak it. If you do all steps mentioned above for only a week or two weeks and stop, it will be a waste. You must remain consistent and patient while trying your best to do all the steps. It can be very hard to keep up but once you push yourself and establish the habit of doing these steps, things become much easier. You will feel much more motivated once the initial results start coming in!

These steps have helped me glow up both physically and mentally, and I wish the same for you. Get out of your comfort zone and be consistent with these steps! But make sure you are treating yourself for your efforts on the way too.
