20 Steps: How to Get Clear Glowing Skin Naturally at Home

I have researched and put together a 20-step routine plan to help you achieve the ideal glowing skin which we all dream about. These steps are natural and can be done at home, which means harmful industrial chemicals will not be involved in these steps, it is a fully organic method of getting a healthy glow on your skin! I have used this routine, the results are very noticeable!

This has helped me, and I am very sure this routine will prove to be life-changing for you too, good luck and lets dive-in!

  1. Stay Hydrated

Starting with the simplest and yet easy to forget step of drinking water. Staying hydrated keeps your skin fresh through the day. You should aim for at least 8 glasses of water a day which will soon give your skin a plumpy fresh look. You could buy a big water bottle and carry it with you through the day, which will serve as a reminder for you to hydrate.

  1. Cleanse Twice a Day

Use a normal cleanser to cleanse your skin twice a day, nothing too premium, just something which gets the job done. Cleanse your skin in the mornings and at night, this will remove any dirt, oil and makeup collected on the skin and keeps it clean. Accumulation of all these substances can clog the skin glands leading to pimples, something avoidable with good care routine!

  1. Exfoliate Regularly

Exfoliating is your secret weapon for smooth skin. I love using a simple mix of sugar and honey once or twice a week. This removes old dead skin cells and keeps the skin nice and fresh, this can make a big difference to the way the skin looks, it will appear shiny or glowing.

  1. Use a Hydrating Toner

A good toner preps your skin for all the goodness that follows. Go for hydrating options like rose water or witch hazel to balance your skin’s pH and add a burst of moisture. This ensures good health of the skin, enhances the look and also fastens the process if done consistently, which is something I noticed when I regularly did this step over a month when following the routine.

  1. Apply Natural Face Masks

Natural face masks are like mini spa days for your skin. Try yogurt for hydration, turmeric for brightness, or avocado for a nutrient boost. It’s a little self-care moment that leaves your skin glowing.

  1. Moisturize Daily

Some people do not use moisturisers if they have oily skin, don’t skip moisturising! It is a very important step. A simple moisturiser will keep your skin soft and protect it from dryness, it is important for the glow appearance of the skin as well as the overall health.

  1. Protect with Sunscreen

It’s a must to keep your skin well-protected from harmful rays. Sunlight contains UV light which can be harmful for skin, applying sunscreen when going outdoors or on sunny days will prevent the dullness, aging and damage to skin. Trust me, your future self will thank you.

  1. Eat a Balanced Diet

Dieting is a such a huge topic as it affects every part of an individual’s life. A person’s diet can be linked to how they feel physically and emotionally which makes it very important to take care of. What you eat will show on your skin! Oily fast food with high sodium content, high sugar from chocolates will leave its marks on your skin. Eat a lot of veggies, nuts, fruits and fish, these will ensure good health of your skin. Antioxidants and good fat are your friends and will get you to a clear glow!

  1. Avoid Touching Your Face

It can be very tempting to itch or touch the pimples or rashes on your skin, but do not at any cost! As this will transfer the bacteria on your fingers to the affected areas and can lead to breakouts. You have to be aware of and be consistently following even the simplest steps to achieve that skin.

  1. Steam Your Face

Facial steaming feels amazing and opens up your pores. Add a few drops of essential oils like lavender for an extra soothing experience. This will freshen your skin and also clean it.

  1. Use Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is known to contain superpowers when it comes to skin! From hydrating to reducing inflammation it is good for everything. Apply organic Aloe vera to your skin and leave it for an hour at least  (there isn’t a specific time frame for this) and let it do its work.

  1. Get Enough Sleep

Another easy step which everyone knows about but is very easy to miss. During sleep is when body recovers and prepares you for the next day, aim for 7-8 hours of quality sleep. This will make sure you are on the right track to achieve a healthy, radiant, and glowing skin

  1. Massage Your Face

Relaxing but also a good way to increase blood circulation into the skin. Use a natural oil like coconut or jojoba to give your skin some extra love.

  1. Practice Stress Management

Medically we know that stress can contribute to the development of many chronic conditions. And yes, it is also going to affect your skin with possible acne outbreaks or a dull look. Vitamin C supplements can have a huge impact on your skin. It helps with getting rid of black spots, prevents damage and improves skin tone, making your skin appear shiny. You can use Vitamin C serums to apply directly on to the skin and include supplements in your diet.

  1. Drink Green Tea

A tasty one! Green tea contains antioxidants which prevents inflammation and enhances the health of your skin. And is also tasty, my favourite part.

  1. Avoid Harsh Products

It can be very easy to go down the road of buying and trying different chemicals to achieve that skin, however these chemicals can be too “heavy” on the skin and can result in quite the opposite. There it is important to use natural organic chemicals and also to show patience, sticking to this routine and being consistent will lead to results.

  1. Keep Your Makeup Tools Clean

Dirty makeup brushes are a breeding ground for bacteria. Clean them regularly to avoid breakouts and keep your skin looking flawless.

  1. Be Consistent

This had to be a separate point due to its importance! People often stop taking care of their skin as following this routine did not give them “results”. It is important to understand that there is no set time frame for when the results are going to come, it can be a month to a few months, but once thing is certain that you will see improvement with consistency. This routine covers everything or most things your skin needs and it’s only the matter of following the routine accurately and consistently without expecting results in a specific time frame. They will come, just keep going.
